Deaths and Funerals

SHINES
Mrs. M. E. Shines died at an early hour yesterday morning at her home in
Skipperton, Ga, after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Shines was the widow
of the late E. E. Shines, and is survived by two sons and three
daughters. She was well known in the community in which she lived, and
the news of her death will be received with deep regret. The funeral will
occur this morning at 10 o'clock at Liberty chapel. Rev. Harrison, of
Byron, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Liberty chapel.

JARRATT
The funeral of A. J. Jarratt took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock
from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. T. C. Rankin, on Walnut street.
Rev. J. W. Domingos, pastor of the Second Street Methodist church,
conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in Rose Hill.
Those who acted as pallbearers were: Messrs. J. M. Bass, James Platt, L.
W. Burkett, H. F. Northington, C. L. Sloan and W. C. Lewis.

HARRIS
The body of George Harris, formerly of this city, arrived yesterday
morning at 10 o'clock from Peoria, Ill. The funeral took place from
Burghard's undertaking establishment at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and
the interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Harris is survived by
his daughter, Miss Adalaide Harris.
