DEATHS AND FUNERALS
MRS. A. L. BANKS
The body of Mrs. A. L. Banks, who died Monday night at the family home in
Bellevue, after a long illness, was taken to Hampton yesterday morning,
where the funeral and interment were held from Liberty Hill cemetery.
MRS. L. E. NAGEL
The funeral of Mrs. L. E. Nagel was held yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock
from her late residence, 1309 Second street. Dr. E. C. Dargan, pastor of
the First Baptist church, conducted the service. Interment followed in
Rose Hill cemetery. The following acted as pall bearers: R. F.
Willingham, J. L. Jessup, O. P. Willingham, E. S. Davis, E. Y. Mallary and
Dr. K. P. Moore.
MRS. J. L. SPINKS
Funeral services for Mrs. J. L. Spinks were held from the family
residence, 810 Elm street, yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. E. L.
Shuler, pastor of the Second Baptist church, officiated. Interment was in
Fort Hill cemetery.
R. R. SMITH
R. R. Smith, a prosperous Houston county farmer, died last night at 8:30
o'clock, after an illness of three weeks. He was 62 years of age and
besides his widow he leaves two sons, R. W. and A. T. Smith, and three
daughters, Mrs. Ruby Dooling, of Dooling; Mrs. Bessie Dorsey, of
Cowersville, and Miss Tony Smith, of Houston county.
The funeral will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the residence,
Rev. Walter Heard officiating. The interment will be in the Smith
cemet[e]ry.
MRS. OLA CREDILLE
GRIFFIN, June 22 -- Mrs. Ola Credille, who for many years has been a
resident of Griffin, died suddenly at her late home in this city Saturday
morning at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. Credille had been in bad health for several
years. She was 41 years of age and is survived by her husband, J. C.
Credille, and two children, [?] and Cecil Credille, both of this city.
Funeral services were held over the body Sunday morning at 11 o'clock,
conducted by the Rev. J. A. Drewry, of this city.
B. N. FORD
WASHINGTON, Ga, June 22 -- B. N. Ford, of Lithonia, who has been spending
several months in Wilkes county, dropped dead in his room at Tignall last
night. He had appeared in his usual health during the day, but frequently
complained of trouble with his heart action. Mr. Ford was [?]3 years old
and was held in high esteem in this county. The remains were taken to
Lithonia this afternoon for interment Wednesday. He was a member of
Norman lodge of Masons at Tignall.
R. M. LASSETER
RIVERDALE, June 22 -- After an illness of several months, R. M. Lasseter,
73 years old, one of the most prominent citizens of Clayton county, died
Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock.
Mr. Lasseter, a Confederate veteran who served with distinguished
gallantry throughout the entire civil war in a company of the Tenth
Georgia regiment captained by Col. A. J. McBride, of Atlanta, was an uncle
of James L. Beavers, chief of Atlanta police, and the father of E. V.
Lasseter, deputy marshal of the municipal court of Atlanta.
Mr. Lasseter's funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from
the Pleasant Grove church near Riverdale. Interment will be in the church
yard. The pallbearers will be announced later.
Mr. Lasseter is survived by four sons and three daughters, E. V. and W. B.
Lasseter, of Atlanta; R. L. Lasseter, of Riverdale, and J. H. Lasseter, of
Forest Park; and Mrs. W. O. Camp, of Riverdale; Mrs. Lawson Reed, of
Atlanta, and Mrs. R. F. Davis, of Savannah.
