Deaths and Funerals

DURE
The remains of the late Capt. George A. Dure were laid to rest in Rose
Hill cemetery yesterday afternoon.

The services were held at the family residence on Orange street, and were
conducted by Rev. C. W. Frazier, of Christ Church, the conclusion being
held at the grave.

Unusually sad, sweet and comforting was the singing of Mrs. Schofield and
Miss Logan, with Messrs. Luther Williams and Monroe Ogden. The floral
tributes were numerous and beautiful.

In the procession were veterans and members of the Masonic and Odd Fellows
lodges, of which Captain Dure was a member.

At the grave, after the conclusion of the Episcopal burial service, the
impressive ceremonies of the Masonic order were conducted by Col. C. M. Wiley.

The funeral was attended by a number of the good friends of Captain Dure
and family, many of them having known the captain during his long
residence in Macon, and who had assembled to show him the last tribute of
love and respect.

GOODLETT
Robert Goodlett, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Goodlett, died at
11:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the parents' residence, No. 132 Steele
street, after an illness of only a few days.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 o'clock this (Friday) morning from the
residence, Rev. Mr. McLaughlin, of Tattnall Square Presbyterian Church,
officiating. Interment will be in Jones' Chapel cemetery.

LOUGEE
The funeral of the late Mr. D. B. Lougee was held yesterday afternoon at 3
o'clock from St. Joseph's Cathedral, the Rev. Father Madden officiating.
