Deaths and Funerals
WESTCOTT
The body of Mrs. Annie E. Westcott, the mother of Mrs. A. A. Shields, of
Huntsville, Ala.; G. S. Westcott and Mrs. J. W. Rountree, of Macon, was
laid in its last resting place in Rose Hill cemetery yesterday afternoon.
The funeral service was held at her residence, Second and Plum streets, at
3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. J. E. Wray, pastor of Mulberry Street
church, officiating.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful, showing the esteem in which
the grand old lady was held by her host of friends. Many expressions of
sympathy were received by the family yesterday.
The following acted as pallbearers: C. C. Wilder, J. A. Riley, R. L.
Henry, A. J. McAfee, Jr., Robert Hackney and Lee Erwin.
EVERETT
The body of S. A. C. Everett will arrive in Macon from Loraine this
morning at 11:25 o'clock, over the Central of Georgia railroad. The
funeral cortege will proceed to Rose Hill cemetery, and the funeral
services will be held at the family burial lot at 12 o'clock. Rev. E. C.
Dargan, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate at the services.
JETER
The funeral services of Mrs. Mittie Jeter, who died at the sanitarium
Monday, will be held at Burghard's chapel, this (Wednesday) morning at
10:30 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Foster, pastor of First Street Methodist church,
will officiate and the interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Powell, a niece of Mrs. Jeter, arrived in the city with the body.
