- 28 February 1811: Nancy Wells, wife of Isaac Wells of Jones County, was raped by a negro man named Jess, the property of James Malone. Jess is about 5' 10" tall, of yellow complexion, one or two foreteeth are out, and formerly lived in Warren and Columbia counties.

- Samuel Dungger of Jones County on 12 May 1818, in the said county, murdered a negro man named Moses.

- Eugene Whison was sentenced to 1 year in prison 15 August 1818 for the crime of larceny in Jones County. Eugene was a hatter, born in South Carolina. He was 22 years of age, 5' 6" tall, with a fair complexion, fair hair, and gray eyes. Remarks: Discharged.

- James Allen of Jones County, on 23 December 1821, murdered Baley Harris, according to the findings of a Columbia County inquest.
