The Nelson Cemetery

Information shared by Sherrie Nelson who may be contacted at shnelson2@alltel.net

This small family cemetery is located on Hwy 41 about 1.5 miles north of
Perry, directly across from Rehoboth Baptist Church.  There is one very
old cedar trees on the ditch bank that somewhat mark its existence.  There
is also a GA DOT Highway right-of-way marker that marks the North
boundary, parallel to Hwy 41.  GA DOT has recently estimated the size of
this cemetery to be 65 feet parallel to Hwy 41 and 55 feet east to west.
[See photos below.]

There are a few markers--no names have yet been discovered.  However,
through probing, we believe there are 9-15 (possibly more) graves and we
believe some of the markers have sunk several inches below ground surface.
If we can uncover these, names might be discovered.
