ROSWELL MERRITT BURIED YESTERDAY
Funeral services over the body of Roswell A. Merritt, who died at his
residence, 403 Orange street Wednesday afternoon, were held yesterday
afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home. Rev. W. H. Sledge, pastor of the
Tatnall Square Baptist Church officiated. He was assisted by Rev. J. G.
Harrison. The burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Merritt was one of Macon's best known and most progressive business
men. Besides being closely identified with a number of the most solid
business enterprises of the city, he was the founder of the Merritt
Hardware Company. His death was unexpected and the news proved a great
shock to his friends.
