- On the morning of 28 October 1791, Philip Alston of Washington County, was killed at his place of residence "by a gun that was fired through the House as he lay in Bed by a Person unknown."

- In the town of Dublin, Laurens County, Benjamin Harrison was murdered by Hansel Roberts of Laurens County, 14 August 1811. Roberts was held in the jail in Washington County, Laurens County not having a jail, from which he escaped.

- Alfred Sinquefield of Washington County, on 11 May 1816, in Washington County, murdered Obadiah Babb of the said county.

- About 4:00 on the morning of 23 April 1818, the kitchen of Wilson Conner of Montgomery County was forcibly entered by four armed men who seized three African slaves (men) who had been forfeited to the state as they had been introduced into it contrary to the laws of the United States and had been placed in the hands of James G. Conner, deputy sheriff of Montgomery County, for safe keeping. Thomas Kirk and Daniel Lamb of Washington County appear to be the perpetrators.
